Apple Boxes: Not just for carrying produce anymore

Team Cinequip | August 13, 2009

When I first started in the industry I was momentarily confused over the term apple box. Was it part of craft services? Was a farmer on set? What I learned afterwards was the first Apple Box was named as such because it was literally an apple box. Used to elevate props, grip gear, or talent, they are an invaluable resource. Fast forward to today, the design and technology has changed considerably, but the principals remain the same.

Whether they are used to support your vertically challenged talent, lift your lights , or give your grips a place to relax, these boxes can be a nice accessory to your kit.

Our Apple Boxes are made with 13 ply Marine grade plywood, which means they’re all weather and exceptionally durable. They are also sanded and finished with routered edges to prevent slivers while lugging them around. With four sizes available, they can satisfy your shimming needs.

Available in kits of four, or individually. Give me a call to find out more!
