Image Quality Control – from camera set-up through production and post, to final distribution

During the past 30 years great strides have been made in developing tools for controlling image quality. Today, cameras costing ve to ten thousand dollars have greater color control capability than one hundred thousand dollar cameras made ten years ago. It is now possible for a totally colorblind person to produce gorgeous, accurate color images. But, while the technology exists to make this possible, it is not always happening.

Michael Kent will discuss how the current relationship between film and digital technology, mirrors the conversion 100 years ago from portrait painting to film based photography. During that period all but the nest portrait artists had two choices, embrace the new medium, or and other work.
